What are the steps to give consent to set up a Direct Debit on my account(s)?

Step 1: Provide your details to your lender to initiate the Direct Debit process as part of your loan application.

Step 2: You will receive a Consent Request Email requesting you to give your lender consent to collect additional data on you in order to proceed. Click the Consent Request Icon at the end of the email to proceed.

Step 3: You will be redirected to a webpage where you will click on “Give Consent” to proceed. See sample webpage below

Step 4: Once you Click “Give Consent” icon you will be redirected to the NIBSS portal to input your BVN and validate your identity. See screenshot below

Step 5: Input your BVN in the text box and click next. You will be redirected to the webpage below to verify your identity. Click on/Choose your preferred method based on the contact details tied to your BVN to receive the OTP to verify your identity. (See screenshot below)

Step 6: You will be redirected to a webpage to input the OTP. See screenshot below.  A 6 digit OTP will be sent to the phone number or email address tied to your BVN as per the method you choose above to receive the OTP. 

Step 7: Input the 6 digit OTP received into the text box and click next which concludes the process giving consent to collect additional data on all your bank accounts and view all the bank accounts tied to your BVN . Please note that the OTP is only valid for 10 mins for security purposes. (See screenshot below).
